Ministries

As a Body that seeks to be intentionally God-centered in all that we do, each ministry ministry is designed to “making ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

Preparing Godly Men
“We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.  For this purpose, also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.”  Colossians 1:28-29

Believing that “as goes the family, so goes the church,” you’ll find that Preparing Godly Men is an opportunity for men to come together for encouragement and instruction as they seek to be the “priests and pastors” of their homes.

In today’s world, it’s difficult to find a great deal of instruction regarding Biblical, servant leadership.  It can also be discouraging for those who are “going it alone.”  Yet, together, “as iron sharpens iron,” the men within our Body are able to gather together as they seek to:

  • Shepherd and lead their families, discipling their wives and children.
  • Be Godly servant leaders in the church, workplace and community.

If you are interested in learning more about “Preparing Godly Men” talk with David Crowe or Dave Bell and make plans to join them the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at GCC.

Woman 2 Woman
“Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.  Titus 2:3-5

Our hearts desire for our women’s ministry focus is to remember the instruction of Titus 2, encouraging women to love their families and homes, ever seeking the Lord for His direction in their lives.

The role of being a woman is one of great joy and it’s our desire to communicate the beauty of Biblical womanhood and the blessings that come from loving God’s design for us as women.

Under the leadership of Leah Bell, our Woman 2 Woman ministry is a great time of teaching and encouragement as we seek to grow a closer, more intimate relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Keeper's of the Faith
We love our “Keeper’s of the Faith” ministry!  Designed for everyone within our Body, this ministry seeks to celebrate God’s distinctive, complimentary design for men and women, boys and girls.

In a world where distinctive roles are often frowned  upon, this ministry seeks to reinforce God’s plan for the family.

This Titis 2 ministry encourages older men to walk alongside younger men (Contenders of the Faith) and older women to walk alongside younger women (Keepers at Home) as we learn some of the basic skills of life (and a few extra ones, just for fun!).

The end result is a desire to teach the children to glorify God in all that they do!

The best way to describe this ministry is with a few Q & A type questions.  So, here goes!
Who is this ministry for?
EVERYONE!  Every man within our Body has something to offer to each young man within our Body, whether you are a college student or a grandparent, or somewhere in between.  There is wisdom you can impart upon those who are very young in their walk.
What ages is this ministry designed for?
While children of all ages will participate, those who are aged 4 to 16 will be able to receive badges and awards, working toward specific goals.
Is this just another program?  Something else for us to do?
No.  This is not a program.  This is a multi-generational, family-integrated ministry.  We will meet together once a month where we learn together.  Then, we’ll depart to actual “do” the ministry within our homes.  What a great way to learn together as the Scripture encourages us to do!
What will we be learning?
We’ll be learning everything from knitting, sewing, knot-tying and construction to etiquette and chivalry.  We’ll also be looking at character traits such as respect, honor, nobility and purity.

Do I drop the children off and come back later?
No, not necessarily.  This ministry is designed for everyone.  The men and young boys will meet together and the women and young ladies will meet together.  We’ll all be learning together -- all ages.

Are there goals and awards and such?
Yes, as a family, you will be able to set your own goals of what you want to accomplish.  As you accomplish different learning skills and work on different character traits, the children will be able to earn badges to celebrate what they’ve learned.

Is there a cost for this ministry?
The only costs are that of the uniform “t-shirt” and each student booklet.  The books are designed to last for multiple years.  The church will be providing the badges and awards.

What if I don’t have young children?
This ministry is for everyone, regardless of whether they have young children.   Everyone has something to offer.  As a Body, this is a great opportunity for us to walk alongside the children the Lord has given us within our Body.

Can we begin at any time?
Yes!  Just jump in when you are ready.  This is not a competition.  We each work at our own pace, determined within our individual family.

In-Home Bible Studies
Each fall, we look forwarding to gathering together in homes and as families for several “In Home” Bible studies throughout Greene County!  These studies are typically 9 to 12 weeks.  Begin watching for details each August as to our upcoming In-Home Bible Study that will begin in September!

One-to-One Discipleship
As Believers in Christ Jesus, we’re called to a “life of spiritual growth.”  There will never be a point of where we “have arrived.”  As those striving to follow the Lord, we are on a continual path of growth (sanctification) in the Lord.

At GCC, we’re excited about the growth that comes from one Believer committing to journey alongside another Believer, teaching and instructing according to the tenets of Scripture.

We form purposeful discipling relationships where one believer commits to discipling another believer, working through specific Bible studies, becoming well-equipped for the Gospel.

If you’re interested in purposeful growth and would like to learn more about becoming a part of our “One-to-One” Growing at Greene discipleship ministry, please let us know!
